Identification of possible strategies to enhance the cultural and scientific value of the Botanical Garden of Turin through market and risk analysis, the definition of allocation and mitigation strategies and the verification of the sustainability and bankability profiles of the initiative. The Garden covers an area of over 2 hectares located in a central and very dynamic area of the city
Requirements
Sinloc's activity is aimed at assisting L&Scape in the development of a feasibility study to support the University of Turin in the verification and direction of the operational and management structure of the Botanical Garden of Turin, also taking into consideration the potential synergies that can be realised with the University to further promote scientific research in the specific area. In addition, the study is aimed at identifying hypotheses for the tourist enhancement of the structure, by including it in the cultural and scientific tour routes of the City of Turin.
The University's intention is to identify a strategy for the valorisation of the Botanical Garden, which in its current state could present opportunities for the redefinition of the activities currently carried out, also with a view to identifying functions that will revitalise the place and broaden the reasons for its interaction with the City.
Features
The study will be the subject of a speech within the 53rd Edition of the IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects) Congress to be held in the City of Turin in the second half of April 2016.
In summary, the objectives of the assignment will be to:
- Analysing the starting situation and identifying the main management, organisational and patrimonial criticalities and challenges;
- Identifying the levers for increasing efficiency with the same system of supply and activities carried out;
- Identifying the potential complementary and integrative activities and services with respect to the current ones;
- Defining the possible management scenarios;
- Verify the socio-economic and tourism impact of the identified scenarios; - Support the Athenaeum "Botanical Garden" Centre in the decision-making process of defining priority and feasible actions, in the light of the identified possibilities, highlighting the economic and financial impacts and implications of the various scenarios.
Results
In the light of the experience already gained in analysing the management structure of Local Authorities and public and private Institutions, Sinloc is willing to support the Customer in the execution of the assignment in the manner indicated in the following section. In the development of the assignment, Sinloc will set up a work team composed of internal resources that will collaborate and coordinate with the various working groups involved in the realisation of the International Conference on Landscape Architecture.
