The Fish Impact project, founded by the INTERREG ADRION programme with € 1.486.089,04, aims to modernise fishery MPMIs in the Adriatic-Ionian area through the development of KPIs in the areas of ESG, nutrition and health. The project collects data on existing labelling and certification systems and integrates them into a multilingual self-assessment tool for enterprises. With 10 partners from 6 countries (Italy, Greece, Croatia, Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina), Fish Impact includes pilot activities in partner territories to promote transparency, competitiveness and sustainability.
Requirements
The Fish Impact project stems from the need to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the seafood sector in adopting quality and sustainability standards to face market challenges. The absence of adequate tools to assess the environmental, social and health performance of fish products limits the competitiveness of enterprises and transparency towards consumers. The project aims to fill this gap by developing a system of key performance indicators (KPIs) that integrates ESG, nutritional and health criteria.
Features
The Fish Impact project is a project funded by the INTERREG ADRION programme, with a consortium of 10 partners from six countries (Italy, Greece, Croatia, Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina). The project collects data on existing national and European labelling and certification systems, analysing the environmental, social and health performance of seafood products. The KPIs developed will be integrated into a multilingual online self-assessment tool, accessible to enterprises. The project includes pilot activities in the partner territories, promoting transparency and sustainability as key factors for the competitiveness of enterprises in the fishery sector.
Results
Fish Impact aims to achieve concrete results, including:
The development of KPIs in ESG, nutrition and health to improve the sustainability and quality of seafood products.
The creation of a multilingual online self-assessment tool, useful for enterprises to analyse their own performance.
The implementation of pilot projects in six Adriatic-Ionian countries (Italy, Greece, Croatia, Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina) to test and optimise results.
The improvement of the transparency of labelling and certification systems, promoting greater competitiveness on the market. Finally, the project envisages the large-scale dissemination of results, with the aim of raising awareness among public authorities, sectoral agencies, businesses and consumers on the importance of sustainable development of the fisheries sector. The project thus aims to promote a change in consumer preferences towards more sustainable and healthy food choices.
