Technical assistance under the European Facility NESOI which will allow the Danish island of Samsø to become totally independent of fossil fuels, including ferries connecting Samsø to the mainland. The project will include: electric ferries with exchangeable batteries after each trip, biogas plant using local biomass, substituting fossil fuels for ferry and other heavy machinery, electrification of the island’s district heating system using local renewable electricity.
