Accompanying the candidature of the "Oltre i muri" project within the "P.A.T.TO per il Territorio" call for proposals promoted by the Cariparma Foundation. "Beyond the walls" redevelops a disused building and the green area of the former Lesignano Spa, creating a community place with a social cafeteria, cultural events and activities for all ages. The project promotes inclusion, accessibility and participation, involving families, young people, the elderly and people with disabilities. The renovated Barchessa becomes a welcoming space for socialising, learning, working and appreciating local traditions. The project partner is ASP Sud-Est.
Features
The “Oltre i muri” project aims to return a symbolic and functional space to the community of Lesignano de’ Bagni: the disused Barchessa of the former thermal baths will be renovated to host a social café and become a hub for inclusion, participation, and community life. The intervention includes restoring the building and surrounding green areas, creating accessible spaces for cultural, educational, recreational, and intergenerational activities. The project engages families, children, youth, seniors, and people with disabilities, offering opportunities for socialization, training, and job inclusion. Partner ASP Azienda Sociale Sud-Est will lead workshops and autonomy-building programs for youth from the “Arti & Mestieri” center. The initiative fosters social cohesion, enhances local heritage, and combats isolation by transforming a neglected area into an open, welcoming, and sustainable community space.
