data-contrast=\"auto\">REFINEE<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> promotes innovative financial instruments to stimulate private investment in energy efficiency in SMEs, with initiatives in<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Friuli Venezia Giulia<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Istria<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As part of the <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">LIFE-REFINEE programme<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cPMI Best Practice\u201d competition<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> promotes sustainable business models and rewards concrete energy efficiency projects developed by small and medium-sized enterprises.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 aria-level=\"2\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">What is the REFINEE \u201cSME Best Practice\u201d competition?<\/span><\/b><b> <\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">In each of the countries involved, Slovenia, Croatia and Italy, two SMEs will be selected that have distinguished themselves for having implemented innovative projects, products, services or processes capable of effectively promoting<strong> energy efficiency and sustainability.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The competition aims to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-leveltext=\"\uf0a7\" data-font=\"Wingdings\" data-listid=\"13\" data-list-defn-props=\"{\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">promote best practices and success stories in the field of energy efficiency;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-leveltext=\"\uf0a7\" data-font=\"Wingdings\" data-listid=\"13\" data-list-defn-props=\"{\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">connecting companies with partners, associations and <strong>sustainability networks<\/strong>,<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-leveltext=\"\uf0a7\" data-font=\"Wingdings\" data-listid=\"13\" data-list-defn-props=\"{\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">raise awareness of the importance of sustainable and efficient energy use;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-leveltext=\"\uf0a7\" data-font=\"Wingdings\" data-listid=\"13\" data-list-defn-props=\"{\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">increase the visibility of SMEs as ambassadors of sustainability, inspiring others with their achievements;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">How does it work?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The selection process involves the applications of participating SMEs being assessed by panels of local experts, who will analyse the projects according to criteria of <strong>innovation<\/strong>,<strong> impact and sustainability.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">At the end of the evaluation,<strong> two companies per country<\/strong> will be chosen as ambassadors for sustainable energy efficiency. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">At the beginning of 2026, the selected companies will have the opportunity to feature in promotional videos produced as part of the LIFE-REFINEE project, thereby increasing their visibility and the impact of their initiatives at European level.<\/span><\/p>\n<p aria-level=\"2\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Why participate?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Participating in the competition offers SMEs the opportunity to gain recognition at both national and European level, highlighting their sustainable practices and successful projects. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It is also an opportunity to build new partnerships and collaborations with other companies and organisations committed to sustainability. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Furthermore, by
